Name: Lady Cyberdragon
Real Name: Shannon
Origin: Canada
Fan Since: 1999 (when V3D came around)
Occupation: Casino Wench and Freelance Jack of Arts
Bio: From the East Coast of Canada, I have been a fan of Voltron in a later time, I first saw I as V3D (you may groan people) and then I happen to stumble upon the wonderful world of the Internet (oh how I love and dispise you) and was then exposed to fandom of the series and its original counterparts. I have drawn quite a few artworks and made a couple of stories (one of the more notable is "Caged Songbird" and the still unfinished "Desert Rain") as well as one of the original members of HRH Fanclub (I dunno why but I tend to like Hunk and Pidge over the other characters)
As of today I haven't been drawing or writing as much Voltron related works as I used to (for I have been working into more original projects) but I still love the community and its members so you'll see me around making jokes, spoofs, and other tomfoolery. ;)

Lady Cyberdragon is HRH's featured member for January 2003! To see what she had to say, read on... :)
HRH asks: What was the first anime you ever watched? (Did you know it was anime at the time?)
Lady Cyberdragon answers: The first one I remember was Voltron: Defender of the Universe when I was a *wee* toddler, although I have a vague memory of it, another one I watched was "The Last Unicorn" when I was seven years old. I did not know they were Anime, I just saw them as neat cartoons on TV!
HRH: Was there something specific that prompted your interest in anime?
LCD: The weird/bizarre/exaggerated characters and the unique plots which seemed to have appealed to me growing up and still do today!
HRH: What's your current favorite anime movie/series (or both)?
LCD: My favorite anime series are Voltron, Dragonball Z, Slayers, Gundam Wing and currently I am familiar with the Sailor Moon series, although I am not much of a fan of "Magical Girl" anime. As for favorite movies, I would have to say "Galaxy Express 999", "Dominion Tank Police", "The Last Unicorn" and "Go Shogun: The Time Estranger". This just to show I have no life whatsoever! *smiles sheepishly*
HUNK: And who's the Hunk-iest anime guy around / Who's the hottest anime babe around? (And what anime series are they from?)
LCD: Milliardo Peacecraft from Gundam Wing! He's sooo hot! *melts to the floor*
*Hunk gives a sad puppy-dog face*
LCD: And who can we forget our favorite Hunk here in the HRH!
*Hunk smiles*
HRH: What anime character do you relate to or consider yourself most like (and what series are they from)? What is it about him/her that you relate to/consider like you?
LCD: I would say I'd refer to myself as Trowa from Gundam Wing, he a very introvert and anti-social character, like myself, I prefer not to get into a big group of friends and would rather have a few close companions. Although Trowa may not sound like much, but if given the chance he would show his true colors in the end and I would say I am the same way!
HRH: Who's your favorite anime hero (and what series are they from)? Why?
LCD: Lina Inverse from Slayers. She's a strong independant anime female, a very powerful sorceress, kicks major butt, and....(my favorite part) She's a REDHEAD! *tosses her red-hair with pride*
HRH: Who's your favorite anime villain (and what series are they from)? Why?
LCD: Vegeta from DBZ, he is basically a typical arrogant villian whom can get himself into almost any situation and even when he's on the good side he still is Mr. Attitude!
HRH: Is there any one anime that really made an impact on you? Which anime, and what was the impact?
LCD: I wouldn't say one anime, basically all anime in general has revived my childhood imagination and gave me a new light upon my creativity whether it is in drawing or writing fiction. :)
HRH: - Is writing/drawing a hobby for you, or is it something that you would like to pursue (or are pursuing) professionally?
LCD: It used to be a hobby, but since I have attracted so much attention and improved over the years, I am going to continue it as a career and hope to have a successful one!
HRH: - What's your favorite book or series of books?
LCD: It often ranges from Stephen King's novels to those of J.K. Rowlings, which it's just to show how flexible I am at writing different genres of fiction due to some things I've read over the years.
HRH: - What's your favorite movie?
LCD: I have many favorites but the one that stands out the most is "The Matrix". The concept of the story, the action, the still motion capture <:) all came together in one cool movie!
HRH: - What's your favorite TV show (non-anime/cartoon)?
LCD: *X-files theme plays in the background* I think that should answer your question! ;)
HRH: - We don't want to pry into anyone's personal/real life, but we'd really love to hear more about you - is there anything you'd like to share with us? We'd love it if you'd tell us a little bit about yourself...
There are lots of things you could tell us about yourself, like...
Are you a student? What are you studying?
LCD: I am a high school student in my graduate year (I guess you could say I am the "baby" of the VIC writers!) After High School I am planning to go to College in Animation and Digital Media! (all Those years of Computer surfing certianly helps!)
HRH: What's your profession? (Job title?)
LCD: Unemployed
HRH: Outside of anime what kinds of interests/hobbies do you have?
LCD: Wepage design, dancing, cooking, studying other cultures, paranormal activity, conspiracy, psychological analysis (Fruitcake anyone?)
HRH: - We know that you've written fan fics about the series Voltron, are there any other series that you write fics about?
LCD: I've tried to write about other series but it never turned out as I wanted it to, so I just stick with the one I like to write best! BTW...does anyone have any medication for Writer's Block?
HRH: - Same question as above, as it pertains to fan art.
LCD: Art I am fine with, usually I draw things from other anime if somebody requested it, I usually go on the internet, find the show they wanted, study it, and then draw it for the client... with a twist to my demented imagination *evil laughter*
HUNK: What's your favorite snack/drink to have when you're writing/drawing?
LCD: Well...let's see. I have quite a sweet tooth so often times I go for chocolate and other pastries... not good for the figure mind you *laughs* but your stomach would certianly be happy! ^^;;
HRH: - What about writing/drawing do you find the most challenging? Why?
LCD: Usually drawing fighting and other sorts of poses and such is a little challenging, but with a bit of practice I managed to get a hang of it!
HRH: - What about writing/drawing do you find the most fun? Why?
LCD: I like drawing cartoons, I can possibly whip up a comic strip (anime or not) in about five minutes if I have a lot of good ideas!
HRH: - Where do you find your inspiration?
LCD: Life. Love. Friendship. General Human nature, other literature etc..
HRH: - What was it that made you want to write fanfics and/or draw fanart?
LCD: Never really figured that I was writing/drawing fanart/fanfiction, I just did them. And when I found all these internet communities with fanart and fanfiction, then I decided to draw more and show my creativity to others!
HRH: - As a writer, who (or what) influences your work? Why?
LCD: Basically people I am close to, my friendship with my longtime friend Neo-Tiger as well as her hardships in her past help my development of all these dramatic/angsty fiction as well as comedy, while my longtime boyfriend shed me some light on romance fiction as well as adventure stories. (For someone who is a History Nut, he comes in handy! :) Movies, books, television also influences my work, but sometimes it doesn't give an actual depiction of life, so most of the time I'd write stuff I am familiar with... which often comes out as the best of my fiction!
HRH: - There are so many different writing techniques, maybe you start with an outline, or maybe you just start writing and see where the story goes. Would you tell us a little bit about your writing technique/style?
LCD: I do start with an outline, write a beginning, an end and then try to figure out what to do from there. Usually I'd write several drafts before I can come up with THE plotline to use for my fiction, develope characters, morals, imagery, symbols etc. I do take pride in my work... which is why it takes about 2 years + to get them done! ^_^;;
HRH: - Likewise, many writers just have characters "appear" - some spend months creating their characters. How do you develop characters?
LCD: Would you believe my OC, Ryana Artemis and Dominique LaCroix took at least a couple of years to develop? *grins innocently* Not because I am procrasinating, it's just that they had so many different names, looks, past history, personality etc. and that fact that I could not make up my mind, that it took a while to create them. I am very finicky about details and I go all out upon these characters in the fiction and what purpose they have in the Voltron Universe.
HRH: - Likewise, there are many ways an artist creates. Would you tell us a little bit about your artistic technique/style?
LCD: I don't really plan a drawing, like other artist I just grab a sketchpad and draw! Often times it is cartoony, other times it is realistic, it varies depending on my current mood.
HRH: - Does your real life, or do your real life experiences, affect your writing/drawing? How?
LCD: I think of it as a therapy to release my emotions, rather than doing it orally (and being spiteful when I don't meant to!) Often it is my hardships at childhood, school and etc. which makes drawing angst easier than if I would do romance but basically any sort of experience I had, would be present in some of these sketches, happy or not!
HRH: - If you could offer one piece of advice to new fan fic writers and/or fan art artists, what would that advice be?
LCD: Keep going with what you do best, even though some people say your work is horrible, there's at least an audience out there who will like it!

Wondering what some of the other HRHers are saying about LCD's work? Check it out below...
Lady CyberDragon's view of the Voltron Universe is very unique. I think she does a good job of returning to the feel of the original Japanese series 'Golion' which was much darker and violent than the Voltron we all know. Her original characters are very well developed and her stories are well-written, as well. -- Dusty

I see her a lot at different Voltron related sites, and so I guess she's a big Voltronite (or whatever it is we're calling ourselves now) I've seen her work for awhile now, and I think she's really developed over time. -- Turbo

Lady Cyberdragon is one of the most active Voltron fans I've come across on various Voltron groups and fan art / fiction. I like the fact that she can handle heavy themes involving almost all the characters, and she has a good grasp at comedy, too. She's not blocked to concentrating on just one take, and is openminded enough to dissect characters like Hunk, Pidge, Lotor, etc. She knows her stuff, and I hope she doesn't get tired producing more stuff for us to appreciate. -- Neogorbash
