On Content...
First of all, we believe that art comes in many forms. There are painters, musicians, actors, writers - and that's simply the beginning. Each artist sees the world differently, diversely - in a way that is beautiful in its own uniqueness.
We believe in diversity. It's the foundation of creativity. And without creativity, where would any artist be? It's what fills our souls - it's what an artist lives on.
Everything an artist creates, be it a story through their paints or a picture with their words, is a part of their soul they've chosen to share with the world. That takes an amazing amount of courage - to set your soul out for people to look at, to poke about in, to decide whether or not they like what they see.
Every artist, or piece of artwork, deserves an equal amount of respect and admiration. Especially when the subject matter is something that society has deemed inappropriate. It is important to remember that what one sees as beauty, another may scorn. In his own time, William Shakespeare's work was often criticized.
Thus said, we have decided that we want to keep the nature of the work presented on HRH, for the most part, lighthearted and fun. This means we must turn away work containing, explicit sexual scenes, extreme amounts of violence, bondage, torture and other materials along these lines.
It would never be our intent to offend, hurt or exclude anyone. Especially someone who has the courage to step outside of society's set of standards - those are the people who change the world. Yet we must also respect those who find the aforementioned types of materials offensive. HRH is for *everyone's* enjoyment - which is why we want to keep the site filled with fun and laughter.
On Requirements and Requests...
Fanart - We would like to ask that all fanart be under 515 pixels in width. If you have a larger image, we can't promise that it will be posted any time soon, if at all. If there's a problem with this, or you are unable to alter an image to fit this requirement, please feel free to contact us about it.
Fan Fiction - We would like to ask that in your fan fics (and other stories, top tens, etc.) you use the * to denote where a word or phrase should appear in italics and to use the ^ to denote where a word or phrase should appear in bold - examples are *like this for italics* and ^like this for bold^ - often we receive fics via email and for whatever reason, the italics and such do not show up. This will save time and headaches for everyone. If there is a problem with this, or you are unable to use this system, please feel free to contact us about it.
Please rest assured that we want all the submissions we can get (*hint, hint*) and we're willing to make compromises and work with our members. These new additions to the guide lines come from a need to save time and to simplify as much as possible. :)
Please Note:
Although we don't own any rights to Voltron, or any of it's characters, "The 'Hunk's the Real Hunk' Fan Club", "HRH", "The Three Hunkateers", and "Hunkateer" are all ideas that were created by Lynne, Shannon and Caroline. Please don't use our ideas without our express consent.
We'd also like to note, "The Three Kittes", "KittyLynne", "KittyCaro" and "KittyShannon" are our online identities, alter-egos; whatever you'd like to call them, they are us - they're our online names, our screen names. Please, don't use the Kitties, KittyLynne, KittyCaro or KittyShannon in any fics or stories without our express consent. We'd also like to take the time to point out that the members of HRH are also other people's screen names - please do not use them without that person's express consent. If their email address is unavailable to the general public, please contact us and we'd be happy to pass along the message.
If you still have questions, concerns or comments about whether or not your artwork would fit into these guide lines, or questions, concerns or comments about anything else, please feel free to email us. We would be happy to take a look and get back to you.
Sincerely,
The HRH Staff
